Which subwoofer and amp??

I am looking for a higher end subwoofer and a good amp to push it, but i am a (home) audiophile and know very little about whats on the market when it comes to cars. The most important part is sound quality, not loudness, no stupid ricer 3am thump thump distortion crap. I was the smooth and mellow bass you would get from a powered 12-15 inch subwoofer you would get from a subwoofer you would fine in a home set up. I don't have deep pockets but i don't want to go for the cheap stuff either. I am thinking of getting components (with vifa 5 1/2 mids). I only listen to music at moderate normal listening levels. Thanks.

Get a nice set of components like alpines or rockfordfosgate as said before and a 4 way amp like JL Audio. Its nice power, clear, and pushes the same amount at a wide variety of ohms so you can hook up the components to 2 of the connections and then bridge a sub off the last two. A single 8 or 10 w3 or w6 by jl would sound great. I have an 8 and its enough to feel it in the car and hear it outside ect and I am only pushing 150 watts.. I am biased towards JL I guess but they aren't low end and put out nice products, check them out. Just my 2 cents
