subs in the rear speaker location

I'm considering installin a set of JL Audio 61/2 subs in the rear speaker location. I have already been told that is very possible. My question is if anyone has done this?

If you're talking about the factory spots on top of the strut towers, you're going to need to do something to seal the air in there, as in make some sort of box. If you just run them free-air, they aren't going to sound all that great.

I think that would look good but once again it might require some fabrication, but that is part of the fun. What do you think?
