Stock Stereo Problem...91 Vert

My stock Pioneer CD/Cassette/Radio in my 91 vert won't play CDs until its good and warm. This can sometimes take 45 mins to an hour. I can't take much more of driving around listening to the radio!! When I put a CD in, it will just keep ejecting it automatically (after trying to spin it for like 15 secs), or if the CD was already in there from last time I was driving, it will try to spin it for 20-30 secs (no music, just keeps trying to spin the cd, no track #s come up on the display or anything), then it will shut off. Does anyone know the cause of this? Any way to fix it? I plan on installing an aftermarket head unit when I get off my lazy ***, but I wouldn't mind having a working stock unit just to have it... Thanks.

Yeah, its usually in cold weather (like under 45 degrees or so) but even in the summer it will take a few minutes to warm up, though not nearly as long as in the winter. I guess maybe its just time to put in my aftermarket head unit already. Thanks for the help.
