Stock metal?

At least, that's what I think it's called. I'm looking for a piece of aluminum about 4" wide and about 5" in height. I can cut it, so anything larger would be fine as well.

The reason I'm asking here is because I've looked and asked around my local town's hardware stores, but they don't have anything in stock anywhere near that size. Do you guys have any online places where I can get "stock metal"?

Sorry to bring this topic up out of the depths, I forgot I had written it

I also forgot to mention that I'd like the piece to be about 2-3 inches thick. I doubt I can get sheet metal at that thickness, but maybe I'm wrong.

LOL, I wish. I get kinda tired of the idiots driving around here in the winter...

What I'm looking for is something to go between the two air intake pipes I have to keep them from rubbing up against each other. I thought it would be cool to have a power coated piece of aluminum (cut to form to the top and bottom of the pipes) with a welded band securing it to each pipe. Kinda hard to visualize I guess from words, maybe I should draw a picture.

On second thought, 1 inch thick would be plenty. I just want it to look solid since I will be showing the car this summer.
