stock front left speaker making noise
My stock left speaker (in the door panel) is making a craking noise. I'm wondering what is the problem? Is the speaker blown, I neve blast it. Is is a loose wire? And replacement cost if I need a new one. Thanks

well if you have the bose system, it is a blown amp which cost big $$$ to fix unless you can find one used maybe here on the forum. If you dont have the bose system then its most likely a loose wire but I can't tell you exactly.
I had this same problem and I ended up taking my entire bose system out and replacing it with normal speakers that aren't pre-amplified at each speaker.

No it's not Turbo'd
Do a search, for bose amps, there'se a company in San Diego that rebuilds bose components for FD's... even if it's not a bose it's worth a shot, if you want another bose product, most people start putting aftermarket speakers that fit under the grille without beeing obvious aftermarket...
BTW, Before you ask, Touring = Most likely Bose, PEP, could be could not, R1 and base, deffinitely not...
It boils down to do you have the snake in the trunk !? Then it's Bose...

No, I'm saying they do Mazda Bose stuff, they're renowned for rebuilding dead amps, but I'm certain they have other junk laying around, and can either sell you one for cheap, or rebuild yous... maybe..
In other words... worth checking out...

Thanks for the help. I'm going to look for a used one here.
When I look for one on this forum am I just looking for the left speaker or is the speaker and the amp seperate? Also does it matter left or right side? Thanks

You need to make sure its not the just the speaker first by checking for cracks in it or what not. If that looks fine then its the amp that is your problem which means you need to buy the amp and speaker together or buy just the amp and mount your old speaker into it. I recommend buying both so you don't have to deal with as much wiring... not that its really that hard anyways. Good Luck
