are you talking about replacing the stock cassette with a stock CD?

If you could find one, it would require a stock radio with an Pioneer/Mazda AE system.

IMO the quality of the stock CD player was poor when new, it is no better today. In fact that cheapo new $130 Sony CD player that most of the stereo shops have right now is a better choice than the old stock unit.

If you could even find a stock CD player at a junk yard, swap meet, or ebayer.

Harnesses are not compatible, you would need to make custom plugs for a series 5 radio/CD to fit into a series 4 car.

the parts for the plugs would cost anywhere from $20 to $50 depending on where you got them. Then you would have to wire them together.

You might get $50 to $100 on ebay for it.
