Stock Anntena w/Aftermarket Stereo

not working together!

I've got an Alpine deck and the stock anntena doesn't want to raise or receive signal. Any suggestions?

check the wiring. the blue and white is the remote wire and the blue is antenna so when you hook up your harness just connect the blue and white from the alpine harness to the blue and white and blue on the car harness and it should work.

Your antenna is plugged in to the back of the alpine deck right? You also might have to go to the store and get an antenna adapter it should fit pretty snug into the deck.

You need to wire in a relay. The stock mazda radios use a Negitive (-) switch. All after market radios (and most car manufacturers) use a positive (+) switch for electric anntenas. I did have a wiring diagram saved on my computer but it eludes me at present...
Do a google search that is where i found it in the first place. :P
Hope this helps.

If you're talking about an FD you don't need to wire anything new in. I assume you know that on the back of your Alpine unit you need to plug in the black antenna cable (about 1/4" circular plug) into the empty hole on the back of the unit to recieve a signal as well as wiring up the harness. The stock head unit has some kind of old connection/clip to the antenna wire. You need to go to a stereo install store and buy an antenna cable adapter for an older mazda, it will clip into the antenna wire (that you'll find in the left side of the passenger footwell if you lost it) and then go into the back of the head unit. As long as you have the harness wired correctly, the antenna will raise up when you select the TUNER on the head unit. If you're in CD or AUX mode, the antenna will be down.
