When i first got my car the previous owner had the head unit in the glove compartment.

I wouldn't put it there but its just a idea.

Just some Ideas : like S14.3rew said in the glovebox (Archieve Pict. #1) , OR Buy a 7or 8 inch flat screen monitor (touchscreen preferablle) and since your gauges are repositioned you could modiffy or remove the warning lights bezel to drop in the monitor on top of your dash so it would pivot upwards Pict. #2 OR buy a portable xm or sirus portable radio that easily could be transported from car to car ( great reception, almost anywhere ) just as long as you use there antenna. Unfortunately there is a fee. but there are new companies already out there with no fees other than buying there radios up front.

You could build a pod on the passenger side of the center console and install a single din unit like right around where the shifter is. "so the unit would hang vertical" or under the passenger side dash but I don't think that would be reachable while driving.
