Stereo not turning on

It worked two weeks ago, then I took it out while I worked on the power antenna and other parts of the car. Put it in last week, and the CD player wouldn't turn on. After driving all over the place, I've confirmed that the player works great, and my wiring harness is sound for connectivity, and there are no mistakes in it.

So... what's with the car? Fuse? Something like that? I bought a voltage tester and intend to check the 12volt for 12volt power. I mean, I'm grounding everything right. Everything's wired the way it was before when it worked, so something gave in the car. But what?

Yep I'd be looking at the 12volts and ground circuit. Double check you haven't blown any fuses (or removed the dome light fuse, as that is part of the constant circuit for the radio).

Thanks, Mark. Here's what I have so far. The audio fuse checked out, and the voltage meter (set to 200ma) went up to 15volts, but hovered around 12.5volts. However, your suggestion with the dome light got to me. My dome light has been really unreliable, and now not working. I'm holding the burned out 7.5 amp "Room" fuse and am heading out to pick a new one up and also some other stuff. I'll let you know then.

My stereo wont turn on either nor will my courtesy/dome lights. I am also having a problem with my door light not turning off and my clock not working. Anyone know the cause/solution???
Thanks.

Yes, you're right. It works now. Thank you! I wouldn't have checked that fuse until much later on in frustration. It took a second to work first time (I've tested it many times since) so I wonder if something else isn't loose. But I'll deal with that later.

Er, sorry DCamco, didn't see that you had posted between my posts. You probably have a fuse problem. On the left side of the car, towards the floor, at the very front of the car behind that false pedal that hangs off the wall is the fuse box. Open it up and keep the cover close so you can see which fuses are what (it says so) and pull what fuses seem to match your problem and look to see if they've been burnt out. You wanna only pull one fuse at a time so you don't mix them up, make sure you put them back in correctly, all the way, too. Fuses can be found of any hardware store at the price of two bucks or so for about seven of the same ampage. Make sure you note the amper level on the fus box cover before you go shopping.

And now I'm gonna go to bed, but you want to especially take a look at your "Room" fuse. If there is no piece of metal connecting the two terminals and you see only plastic, it's blown.
