stereo guys correct me if i'm wrong

OK so here's my thought I just bought a Pioneer DEH-p940mp head unit for my FD. It does not have a wire for a power antenna signal. So that I can raise my antenna and lower it. I'd like to have that be functional without having to wire a switch to allow me to do that. Here's my question. Can I just splice the remote wire from my head unit and connect the antenna power wire so that anytime I turn on the radio the antenna will go up and stay up and then turn it off it will go back down. If worse comes to worse I'll wire up a switch but I'd rather not. Let me know what you think if this would work or not. Thanks.

Yes, it will work. That wire is normally used for the remote turn on for an amp, but will still work for the antenna.

ok so in the 93's and up you don't need to send the relay like in older rx-7's I can just splice in. I found in another search that in the fc's the antenna needed a negative signal.
