stereo guru's please help

I have a Soundstream 5 channel amp that I'm pushing my mids and highs w/. It's a small amp only pushing 25watts per channel. I'm wondering what sub I can push w/ that 5th channel that I'm not using? Can I push a 10" sub? I'm just looking for some cheap temporary bass untill I can afford another amp and some real subs. I'm thinking of buying those cheap boxes from the flea market but can I push it w/ just 25watts?

Cool SoundStream is good stuff

Soundstream always rate their kit very conservatively.

I have Soundstream 405, 5 channel amp, and it was able to drive a 15" Kicker Solobaric with no problems at all.

Which model of Soundstream is it?

Only problem I ever seen with Soundstream was there reliability. I seen several of their early models, have many problems. But Id say it will have no problem pushing a 10 sub. Cheap flea market boxes are exactly what they say, cheap. The box is almost as important as the woofer you put in it. If you want a cheap decent box, check into a SDK pre fab box. We sell em for like 29 bucks for a 10 box. For a cheap woofer, Id recommend a Mtx 4000... The subs sell at our store for like $50/ea. Its a very good sub for the money.. So at $79 + tax. That would be a pretty cheap sub set up.

Cool that sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. Thanks!

The Soundstream by the way I'm not sure what model it is but it's the one that is chrome. All I know is that it's 5 channel w/ 125watts, and it pushes my 4x6.5 Mb Quartz and 4xMb Quartz tweeters just fine. i just hope that the fifth channel can push a sub.
