Steering Column gauge pod

Well I like messing around with fiberglass and making stuff out of it so I decided to make a gauge pod to go on the steering column.
I made one of these for my last fd and really liked it. But in my new one it had the boost gauge over on the a/c panel and I really had a hard time seeing it so I decided to make another.

Here is a pic of it after I got the basic shape with fiberglass mat and then applied the first layer of bondo.


Here it is after all the sanding and glazing putty. I thought I would try somthing new and so I textured it with some texture paint I bought and Im still not sure if I like the outcome. I was looking for a finish more like jayspec's car but it didnt turn out that way. Tell me what you guys think.

id prefer a smooth finish....but look good other than that

It looks out of place with the rest of the panels being smooth.

Smooth it out. I just used a guage holder and attached. Simple, clean, looks rather nice but, I like that you are making your own stuff. I know how much those pre-made things cost. Ouch! Good luck
