88 Vert, door speakers, I bought a new set of infinity Kappa speakers for the door and dash, the door speakers interfer with the window, what is a viable fix or am I just out of luck with the infinity speakers, they are too deep and they do not offer any other size, all the books say 5 1/4 are the right size, is there enough room to put a couple of spacers behind the speaker to make it less deep and will the door panels still fit?
What have you done to put decent speakers in a power window Vert?

now if it was me.. and i do work at a fairly reputable installer..
i would put a 1 inch MDF spacer behind the mounting grille.

 

If I remember correctly, I took off the door panels and speaker adapters from a vert a while back. The speaker size was 6.5" for the doors. I've used JBL, Pioneer and Inifinity speakers in the doors with power windows. Is it possible to exchange your speakers for less deep ones? If they're barely rubbing, you can add a spacer to make them clear.

 

they are 5 1/4 in my car, I am wondering if the door panel will fit if I put a spacer behind the speaker, I do not want to remove the grille on the door panel that covers the speaker. I won' t have the car back for about 2 weeks to try so thought I would ask.
