well, I'm no expert on this subject, how-ever I have been reading about car audio for the last month or so be cause I need to replace my stero in my "87 cupe.

2 things I have been told and agree with are...

1. don't cheep out on 4" speakers they suck enough as it is. (JL audio is a good brand from what I can tell/ what I have read)

2. try to buy the same brand/ series of speakers for timbre reasons.

hope that helps.

my fc had 4" polk 2 way speakers in stock dash locations and an 8" sub hidden in each shock tower, completely drop in. No mods required.

Who ever said to keep the same brand or series has lost there mind.Yes keep the same subs,I have yet see Jl audio make a w7 in a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2. If you like a brand of highs use them and if you like another branch of subs use those.Focal makes a set of 4" with tweets that will blow your mind to put in the stock location.Anything you put in the rear towers is worthless anyway if you put a set of good subs back there unless you want some rear fill.
