Speaker System

I'm thinking of installing a speaker system with a custom sub box. I am kind of new and at this so any input would be great. I want to go with 2 10" subs, and 5.25" components in the doors. I have 6.5" in the back and 4" in the front. How many amps should I go with, I'm thinking 2, 1 for the subs and 1 for the components and the 6.5". Also how good are the Polk Audio GNX10 10" subs? What are good amps that don't cost a fortune? Any suggestions would help, thanks.

As far as good amps that don't cost a fourtune, they don't exist. I like to go with all JL audio components. I like Polk subs, but honestly believe that JL kicks their but. Ditch the 5.25". Use a good 4" component system. MB Quart makes some real nice components. I personaly wouldn't worry about amping the 6.5". It's rear fill. I'd do a monoblock sub amp, and a good two channel amp for the components. If you really want to amp the 6.5s, then go for a four channel instead of the two. Check out www.crutchfield.com . they have info aout the wazzo!
