Question Speaker question..help...

my current setup is a
Kicker 360 amp powering up my JL components... on a Sony CDX 600 model I think...forgot the number..

anyways...

I got 2 JL 10W3s that i want to set up also....
with a free
RF 400 series amp....

what kinda accessories will I need to run the 2ns amp and subs...

i got the power line....ground and rc cables...

is a capacitor necessary since I am only running one line from the battery or would I do without one?

any suggestions? and any price on those things?

A capacitor will always help the install. It takes some of the strain off the battery and alternator. Check out www.monstercable.com for models and prices. They aren't really that expensive and they can save you from being stranded with a dead alternator.

Run your RCA signal cables from the head unit to the amp which ones the JL speakers (or whichever amp has the line out) Then run a cable form the line out of that amp to the line in of the next amp

You'll need a length of 5-15amp cable to go from the head unit to the amps for the remote (Just connect it to the remote on one of the amps, then run a small link from the first amp remote to the seconds amp remote.

You'll also need some thick black 4-8 guage cable. 2 lengths about a metre long should do it. Put a lug on one end of each cable, connecting that to a rigid, grounded part of the car (under a bolt of something), then connect the other end to the - terminal on the amp. You can also use a distribution block, distributing 1x4 guage to 2x8 guage.

Then you need a 5-6 metre length of 4 guage red cable to run from the battery to the amps - It should be 4 guage, but 8 might work (I'd recommend 4) Put the correctly rated fuse in a waterproof fuse holder within 450mm of the battery + terminal.

Then just run speaker cable to your subs, wiring them to the amps :P Enjoy
