Speaker cable - 12 GA Sound King OKAY?

Do I need some special speaker cable for my FD install, or will any well made speaker cable work just fine? Do cars require some sort of speaker cable to reject noise?

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

Speaker wires are not very susceptible to noise, due to the higher signal levels. Just use good 12-gauge cable. I guarantee that the subtle differences that cables can have on sound are going to be completely drowned out by the FD environment anyway....

I used 12awg for my rex, I almost regret using such a large wire because it is hard to run through the interior in some places. Especially with a 2 way system running 2 sets of lines for each side gets bulky.

it depends on how much power is going from your source to your speakers. If your running your speakers on an amp at less than about 75 watts RMS per speaker than you can use some good quality 16-awg. I've been installing stereo systems for some 8 years now and know that you don't need 12-awg or thicker unless your pushing some higher than average power. To put it in perspective 12-awg is what you would use if you were running a seperate speaker box for bass, since bass signals create more heat in the wire that carries them. Don't go to thick, it will make it harder to work with the wire and hide. Good Luck
