Thumbs up Sparco Mugello wheel installed

I'm using the Sparco hub and Sparco quick release hub. The cruise control and a horn button are located at the bottom half of the column cover. I love it; 330 mm wheel is fine. I'm 6'1" w/ 34" inseam - gauges are not blocked from view. Talk about a theft deterrent. Jumpered the airbag plug and no airbag lamp. I'm very pleased w/ the result.

I knew y'all would want pics and I ain't got 'em. I'll post some Sunday afternoon. I didn't have time to do 'em b/c of wife's dept. Xmas party and now I'm all liquored up on gin and lime juice w/ two olives please. I need to prep out my dash and paint and clear coat it to a shiny black metal-like finish. I think it will be easier to accomplish now that the ******* factory steering wheel, which, by the way, weighs 18 ******* pounds - it's a heavy POS, is ******* outta there. Good riddance to it and the ******* airbag. **** me. Back in the ER portion of my career, I'd seen the older airbags demolish patients' teeth and noses.

I'll get pics up..............probably not soon enough......

Here's one

I'm trying to get these into my gallery but approval is pending. I wish I knew how to put them all immediately into my text as I type this post.

Thumbs up What have we learned???

The red button is the horn and the cruise control works. 330mm is not too small for the wheel. Smaller could raise gauge-viewing issues but this seems to be an individual fitment deal. Sparco is the ****. Ya don't need the MazdaSpeed hub. Turn signal lever works independently of the hub - I was led to believe otherwise. Pulling the steering wheel requires a 3-bolt puller (available for rent at AutoZone - bolts are metric w/ metric thread pitch). Be careful to disconnect neg. battery terminal first and follow airbag service instructions in the electrical section ("S" chapter) of the service manual; steering wheel is in the "N" chapter of the main body of the service manual.

I am a happy-azz bitch now that my pimp has this Sparco Mugello steering wheel. Maybe it won't shake me down for more cash any time soon which we all now will happen anyways............

Thanks for the info and the pictures. Do you know if the setup brings the wheel any closer to you? I'm trying to get the wheel closer to bring it off of my legs.

Why is it so much more ******* convenient to post pix on the NPF? Hmmmmm? This "image approval" stuff blows my inadequate, ******* mind. "Everytime is the first time" for me in my attempts to get the information up in one posting for all of you. Sorry. I sourced my **** from NOPI and the **** is in stock and their service is accurate and fast. Thank-you NOPI. The whole rig is nearly $500. The QD hub is @ $200. Sparco stuff ain't cheap, but it is the best. The main hub is $65 and the wheel about $220 or so. Again, what a theft deterrent that QD hub is. Combined w/ an Auto-Lock, it presents an interesting and unique challenge to those ****-sucking, street urchin car thief ****

Whats with the carpet stuff covering your dash? Looks like you're trying to be a pimp. Get that off of there.

Oh, nice steering wheel though

Ummmm, Bernie Eccelstone says....

..... have your fun. Fact of the matter is that dashmat is FIA-approved and I got it from old man Amemiya hisself. They were sellin' 'em at Sevenstock.

Jeff Gordon's got one in his car and so does Richard Simmons.

Unhappy

Aw, c'mon. I'll concede it isn't photogenic, but it keeps the sun from destroying the dash. I'll remove it when I repaint the interior

did you ask for a hub adapter specific to your 3rd gen or did you have to use a 2nd gen hub adapter. the first hub adapter i purchased was for a 2nd gen and i had to modify it, since then i hacked the hell out of it and i am looking to get a new one as well as a qd.

so in case i was not clear: what hub adapter did you use (part number)?

Sparco steering wheel hub Mazda no. 018+0470. That is what is on the label. There is a smaller label that says Mozzo Sparco Mazda 626 - 323 RX7 - MX5 Miata FR11. It has a bar code w/ the no. 01502095.

I guess one hub fits all so it must be in demand 'cuz they're still makin' Miatas in vast quantities (gee, I wonder why? )

I have a quick question ( coming from a non owner )... what are the two buttons on either side of the guage clusters? One looks like fog lights or something and I cant make out the other.

they're horn buttons - but you can rig them to activate whatever you may want to activate.
