hmm i have acquired $300 to spend on my FC.

should i get 2 new JL 6 by 9 speakers and get them custom installed on my FC or.. get a new header or muffler? (would headers and muffler do much to a 88 vert n/a?)

sound sys and ride w/ top down in style or... for speed?

 

I'd say on a vert, the muffler and headers aren't gonna help you much, but then again, I'd much rather do those mods than stereo. I bought my car with NO stereo at all and just pieced together a pretty cheap system. It really comes down to what you want from the car, but the vert isn't the biggest performer, so you might just want to get the stereo and keep the chicks lookin and listenin.

 

6x9 don't fit in a FC... why would you waste the money to even put them in???? and 6x9 speakers are some of the worst sounding in the world??? if you are not forced to use them because of speaker hole size don't.

Get something that fits.

 

Here is the basic formula for modding your car:

1.) Go fast
2.) Sound Good Going Fast
3.) Look Goog Going Fast

At least performance is the #1 thing in my world. But hell, do what ya like!

 

Almost the formula I'd use.... but I'd swap number 2 and 3 above. I'd rather look good than sound good in the car, cause I'll keep the stereo indoors
