Sony CDX-M8815X or alpine cda-9855
I was wondering does anyone have experience with sony head units. I know Alpine has better rep than sony on headunit but this sony head unit looks so much better than the Alpine. I could get both head units around 250 price isn't the factor.
links for both of them incase you don't know how they look like.

I think the Alpine kicks ***. Plus, there's a cable you can connect to your ipod and it sounds incredible. Well, much better than the FM transmittor since our antennas are in the back and it picks up static.
I am partial to Alpine though, I think they are the best sounding decks for the money. If you're buying the Sony for the pretty display, that's another story.

I use to have one of the best sony headunits available cost me somewhere around $600. ALthought it looked great and had cool functions, sound quality was just ok. Sold it, and now I have an alpine cda-9853 and could not be happier. Sound Quality > Visual effects. If you want cool effects put an equalizer in the din below, either a pioneer deq-7600 or any of alpines eqs and you can have better sound and a lightshow for around $150. This is coming from an audiophile with more than 3k of stereo in my fd.

Are you liking the 9853 glide touch?

I just got Sony's newest head unint, the best one out, and I am very gald I got that one.. its the new limited modles.. the black aluminum.. I can't remember the modle #.. but it its the best thing I have got since my FC. it was 229 on sale.. and it comes with ATRAC program.. it makes music files much much smaller than MP3s.. so I would say go with sony.. cuz you can hook up an ipod to those too
