SONY CDX-M620 Will it fit?
I was wondering if anyone had this model cd/receiver in their car. I want to know if it will fit and what else I will need to go w/ it. For instance, where would I get a panel to cover up the space left by the oversized Bose cd/cassette/receiver? Any help or suggestions you could make would be greatly appreciated. I know next to nothing about this kind of stuff. All I know is that the constant spitting out of cd after cd is getting annoying. Thanks for your help guys.

I assume that you are driving a 3rd gen, given the existing Bose radio.
I have an 89 convertible with the CDX-M770 (the top end of the black panel head units). It is a pretty deep radio for the 2nd gen and prevents use of the trim ring that comes with the radio unless you want the radio to stick out pretty far. I am now searching for an aftermarket trim ring that will work. The 620 should fit in your car and I'm sure you can locate a kit to cover the remaining opening.

I know it will fit in a FC with the right adapter kit. I dont know how much room is in FD's and FB's But I would assume (yes I know assume) that it shoudl fit with the right adapter kit. i know Metra makes a huge variety of kits for just that purpose. A stereo shop will have them in stock or could order it for you ( I know duh)

Sort of...
I have a 93 but I had the factory Clarion-I installed the CDX-M620 last month. It fits, but its VERY tight-basically, the wiring bunches up and presses against the metal plate back there...you have to sort of pull all the wires over to the right and tuck it back as much as possible-
Sony managed to forget to pack the clips that secure the chassis to the metal frame, so mine's held in by screws and doublesided tape. I took out the lower bin with the door to make some extra room for the wiring-
BTW, this is with the Metra wiring harness. The thing is HUGE. If you want to go non-harness and just crimp the wires together, you might have a little more room, but not a whole lot of slack.
Also, you might need the male-male antenna adapter-I went to all sorts of electronics shops (Circuit city, Good Guys, al & eds autosound) no one had it....Good guys even insisted that no such thing existed. Radio shack has them for like 2 bucks.
Hope this helps and good luck.

thanks guys
your input is greatly appreciated!!!
Cow, how do you like the unit?
would recommend someone to get it?
any info you can give me about the system itself would be great.
Thanks again everyone.

gl25,
I know you addressed the question to Cow, but I would like to say that I really like the head unit. Take a look at the sony web site and you will see that the 770 is the same as the 620 - it just has some added features. I was going to get the 620 but decided to waste a little more money. I ended up getting the 770 due to the input/output flexibility as well as the DSP incorporate into the unit. But other than that, the 770 is very similar to the 620. I, for one, would recommend it. But many people would stay away from Sony - they say there is quality problems with them. I haven't experienced any as of yet.

thanks man. I'll look into it. seeing I don't know ****, your input is completely appreciated.
I would also like to say that my first game at goaltending in hockey resulted in a win for the team I played for. It's only the 5th time I've played in about 3 years so I'm pretty proud of myself. Thanks for listening.
Thanks again,
greg
