So today I finally got my radio working...

I bought an amplified antenna today (the kind that can be put inside the car) and hooked it up... so now for the first time since I've owned the car, I can listen to radio instead of just CDs... cheaper (although I basically let the guy rip me off because I bought the one they were using for full price since I didn't feel like waiting for them come in...), easier, and cleaner (no visible antenna at all) than replacing my motorized one...

Reception is....well, kind of iffy. Some stations are crystal clear, some are fuzzy, and some seem to have a bit of static unless you move the antenna.

AM basically doesn't work at all but it picked up a few stations...

I'm gonna have to take that back... reception while driving was awful. Partially because the reception seemed to get worse on some channels when I turned the car on (even just the ignition). I haven't got a clue why.

Some channels (probably close stations) will pick up fairly well except for a few spots in the car that just make it go into static (usually big pieces of metal like the dash cap, or glove box door).

Some stations will work great when I'm holding it outside of the car but will have quite a bit of fuzz if I put it in any possible mounting locations. It almost seems like radio waves don't like glass, either.

Either that or it's not getting enough 12v power to boost the signal (VERY unlikely... I wired it up to switched 12V... I guess I can go and hook it up to the antenna remote wire just to make sure.

I'm probably gonna take it back reguardless... the same thing costs 29 bucks online.

Operation Bitch Until I get a Refund was a complete success...

I'm never going to shop there again. What a bunch of ********...

I only had to ask three different people what the return policy was to get an answer (the only person who offered to give me a refund was the owner's wife), and they were dicks about it when she offered to give me one, because I bought their display (at full price I might add). If someone buys something at full price, the return policy shouldn't be void just because it was used.

At first I offered to trade it in for something else (like the OEM-fit powered antenna), since I didn't think they would just offer to refund it out-right. But was gonna charge 100 bucks for it (it costs about 65 bucks last time I checked).. I also offered to exchange to partially pay for pair of rear speakers, but the item that cost 10 dollars more suddenly became an "iffy fit" so he proposed one that cost over 50 dollars more... I would have considered trading it for a radar detector, but the cheapest price they would list me (the "cheapest one I would use") was 80-90 dollars, and to be honest I'd rather have my money back in the first place...

(too late to edit)

The biggest reason I thought they were such dicks is the extreme level of pressure I felt from them... which made it hard to just ask for a refund (besides me being meek and polite).
