I'm in the same boat as you tidbit, I don't really want to add a lot of weight because at this time I have a rotary, but I'm going to same route, LS1 FD in probably a couple of months, so weight won't really matter anymore after the LS1 is in :-)

Luckily, my car already had all the basic mods on it (minus the midpipe/PFC) so I don't really need to spend any money on the engine, it already has all the reliable mods.

Yeah, what I meant was no need to spend a few thousand on upgrades if you are just going to turn around in 4-6months and rip everything out. I would just save and then do the LS1.

To say the least the LS1 is an awesome engine. But will that be enough hp for you? I do remember you talking about your r6. Even a LS1'd FD will be no where close to that crazy stuff.

But heck, if you really wanted to go crazy...why not just twin turbo that beast? Now that would be one heck of a setup. 800rwhp any one?

Well Lingenfelter has been using a similar design for a while now(LS1 bored over). You could always just take a LS1 run it then when you got tired of the hp pull it rebuild it and the turbo the thing. I think that most people do this whole conversion for a little over 10k. I might be off on the figure though.

Sooo...I want to see some more pictures. Got any?

P.S. I remember seeing a Lingenfelter vette against a 11sec DSM. It was almost embarrasing for the little guy. Can you imagine what that would do in a 7? Can we say death on wheels? Not that you don't already have that with your street bike.

where can i find the "think pile matt"? i was gonna use the fiberweave cuz it's more accessible. i guess the fiberweave is more prone to cracking huh?
