Simple FD stereo upgrade question

Nice and easy...

I have a '95 FD. Alpine head unit ($350, 2005 model). Self-powered bazooka bass tube in the trunk.

Someone please just give me what I need to balance the sound out? I have too much bass, not enough mid range. I need an amp and new stock location speakers. Bonus if I can buy what you recommend from Crutchfield! I just want a decent sound... preferably for around $300 or less.

Cheers,

Sam

Why not just turn down the gain on the bazooka and fade the sound on the head unit more to the front speakers.

I can do that, and I have done it - it's just that as soon as you have almost ANY bass from the bazooka it overpowers the midrange.

Smile FD3 Stero Upgrade

My two cent, You have a nice Alpine Headunit
that is powerful enough to drive new front & rear
speakers. I suggest you gut the Bose system, the
front speakers are only 4".

My ICE:

JVC SHX850 Head unit 35 Watts RMS,
Infinity Kappa speakers, front (2way) 5¼”, rear (3way) 6½”
MTX TA5601 Mono Amp Class D 300 Watts RMS
MTX T7512-04 12” Subwoofer 400 Watts Peak

Good Luck
