I just recently purchased a FC RX-7 and it has a short shifter installed. I found it hard to know which gear I was in (when the car was off), and finding the next gear in the row. Is this normal and just something to get used to or should I know where i am? thanks for the help!

 

what SS is it? sounds crappy. i have the Re-amemiya short shifter which i'm told is basically a miata shifter and works wonderfully compared to stock. there are plenty of threads here on the topic and i'm sure if you changed it you would see a big difference. search is your friend.
