Shine Auto - still a thing?

Has anyone had a recent experience with Shine? I'm going to make some exterior changes to the FD, and Shine used to be the go-to for a few items. I look at the site and there's a ton of old unreplied comments throughout.. but in this day and age of scammers I can understand that. Any input is appreciated.

I got a couple of items from them last year and no issues. Just a little bit of a wait. I did have an issue with them a few years back as I never received the diffuser I ordered after 5 months but they rectified that quickly after a couple of emails.

Was wondering the same myself. Rolled the dice and put in a fairly large order this past weekend. I figured worst case, I make it American Express' problem.

I ordered an FD widebody and diffuser a few years ago and I wasn't impressed by their quality. The parts needed a lot of work (pinholes, warped parts, deep gouges, cracks) and I was so disappointed that I ended up reselling all of it and buying authentic JDM pieces. the JDM parts were much higher quality and needed less fit and finish.

I was wondering the same. They are the only ones I have found that sell a replacement carbon fiber lip that isn't a 99 spec

If it's OE you want, I'd either ask Ray Crowe or Ari @ RX7.com.

I know Ari has been very off uncommunicative lately, but no worse than Shine's rep on a good day. I've not heard of Ari just straight notnl delivering things, just kinda up in the air on when you'll get it.

For lips: 99'spec, Mazdaspeed, AutoExe, Uras, and others are widely available in Carbon amongst eBay/China sellers.

What Shine has that no others do is their flexible "HybridCarbon" which is a really nice feature in lips.

Nothing good.

A week or so after I ordered, Ken sent an email asking for a phone number to call and discuss. Apparently "some" of the stuff I ordered was no longer available. I think it was only 3 items, so not sure what "some" is.

Despite a couple emails in return, I haven't heard anything further.

It seems Mazda, or their supplier, must have made a new run of the '99 bumper skins. I bought three on Buyee a few months ago for C$505 each, NIB.

You have to have a shipping solution though. Fortunately we have a guy consolidating containers of large JDM parts, about every two monhs.

Shipping was about C$200 each, but could have been lower if they put all the skins in one box.

Rebars are running about C$1000 on Buyee, atm.

"shotime" on Ebay usually has some of the bumper bracing, or you can likely find a used S6 bumper and strip the stripping of it.

Nengun also likely has NIB sets of the bracing.

For what it's worth, Ken called me back this evening. They no longer have 2 of my 4 items (actually, 1 of them they apparently never had in CF -- just a webstore error). He offered me some options and immediately refunded the balance of what he couldn't provide without question.

Not the quickest follow-up in the world. But totally acceptable in my book and was a great interaction.

I can't speak to the quality of their delivered product yet. But, so far, so good.

If you don't mind, what did you order?

What he had:

'99-spec lip in HybridCarbon
FEED Skirts in Carbon

What he didn't have:

Espirit Tail Cover in Carbon (only in FRP)
The little carbon spats behind rear wheel (lost molds - but he said he had an old-stock in plain weave still)
