How does the plastic silver piece around the 5-speed shifter come out? Does it simply pop out? The reason Im asking is the rubber cover for bottom of the shifter has come loose from this plastic piece. I can feel little spikes on the bottom of it for the rubber cover to snap into, I just cant get it to do so from the outside. I tried pulling up on this plastic piece a little, but did not want to break it.
