I do not like metal because they get too cold/hot.
I prefer round wood which even the Porsche Carrera GT had. Wood has always been classic. Both the imported exotic wood knob and the aluminum brake knob are Miata accessaries. |

I think this MAzdaspeed wood knob is one of the best looking and original out there. Personaly im not into the weird new age shifter knobs, wood is light durable, comfortable, and stylish.

Any weighted Razo.

I just recently bought a 5 speed mazda rx-8 knob it's pretty nice and weighted.
|
I bought the Razo RA64a. Heavy and nicely built. Makes shifting more fun. Now I need to get a short shifter...
|
the best by far in my opinion is the greddy counterweight...it is very heavy and throws the gears in SO much easier, i have never missed a shift with this knob. It is metal and it does get very hot/cold and when u sweat the knob is slippery, but the weight of the knob and its perfect interior match makes it def. worth the purchase.

I've tried the razo whatever super drift knob (470g or so) on a miata.
On my second time driving the car, my shift work was on par with my driving of the fc. |
I got a short and heavy GReddy knob: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...3&postcount=32

Go with the Mazdaspeed Leather shift knob. GREAT replacement over stock and matches the interior perfectly.

I'd reccomend my RE-Amemiya shift knob, but its the only one I've ever seen. I got it from a Japanese Junkyard.
