When I bought my 7 the owner never said if it had an aftermarket security system. I have a little red light that is on my dash that I know is not stock.


I have never seen it blink. I don't want to take the dash apart to follow the cable. Can anyone tell me where to start looking for an alarm system? I wouldn't notice if something is unusual unless someone tells me.

 

I would say to look under the dash. Most shock sensors are attached to the steering collumn. Look for wires that look out of place and a big black box with two or three plug in connectors. Also look of a little switch for the valet parking. Usually in the glove box or right under the dash.

another place to look is the drivers side kick panel (the part the covers access to where the door harness enters the car. I put my aftermarket alarm/keyless entry unit there as there is plenty of room.
