so whats the deal with this adapter? i was told i was gonna need it if i got a new head unit, but i have a few questions.

1-if im going sony headunit and infinity speakers, would i need it? or would i just hardwire the speakers through the wires that go into the bose speakers?

2-do i only need the adapter if im going sony headunit with stock bose speakers?

any light on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
