Sanding my Alumi hood
ok so. i got this aluminum hood on my s4 coupe. it has a bunch of layers of of rattle can paint and primer. i started sanding it slowing to remove some of the layers so i can repaint it my self. (probably gonna rattle can it too ) anyway my question is this.
since its my daily driver and i only have have so much time during the week to do the sanding in increments. would it be ok to take the sanding all the way down to the metal. i was told that aluminum starts oxidizing in the first 3 mins. so i was worried about corrosion. but i don't see my self leaving it too long. i bought some aluminum primer from home depot. it came only in white though. ill post pics if anyone is interested.
so in short. should i be too worried about the aluminum oxidizing too fast before i get done.
thanks y'all.
