You completely misunderstood. The Rx-7 is riddled with problems. It's a very expensive car to own. But we keep our FD's because we love them. I have owned mine for six years and it's my second one at that.

Why keep an Rx-7 that is not only ten years old and expensive to maintain, to then turn around and make it look like an Rx-8? Why not just go out and buy the Rx-8 and slap a turbo on it? It doesn't make sense it's just stupid. The cost of the FD + a good conversion + money to make the car run good and look good (if not already) = almost the $$ for an Rx-8 and without the 'old' car problems.

I'm pretty sure that if you do ... you have the same parts as someone else on a different model car, wouldn't that be the same thing???

pls clarify ....
No I do not have any body modifications done to my ride, yet. I'm in the middle of a few purchases but they are all 99 spec Rx-7 body parts.

Edit- I'm not a fan of the Rx-8's. Just not my cup of tea.

Yea...but it works both ways. I think completely changing your car to make it look like a faster car is still a bad idea...simply because it's a diff. car. Look in the RX7 Hall of Shame thread at that Ferrari F-40 conversion for an excellent example...

wow that red one looks like a ricer drawing of a c6 vette.

the rx8 is a completely different car. the 7 with the front end looks pretty cool but it would be stupid for the FE to be based on or look close to the 8.

Too bad that's the actual case. Every single report or interview I've read about plans for the upcoming RX7 have clearly stated it's going to be made off of the RX8 platform...
