Running woofers in rear speaker location
Hi
I swear I read a thread on the forum where someone was installing 6" woofers in the base model rear speaker location. I have been searching all night, finally giving up. If anyone knows if a thread like this exists please post it here.
I plan to eliminate my Bose system from my Touring. I really don't think I need a separate sub box in back. Not looking for insane bass, just a decent amount with more volume than the old tired Bose system. I am wondering if anyone has gotten their audio system to sound decent running 5x7, 6x8 or 6" component woofers in the rear speaker location, no tweeter. So in theory, a 4 channel amp, driving the door speakers and rear speakers.
Thanks for any help.

Rob - the OEM brackets limit as well as the location limit the size. There have been folks who have modded the brackets to fit 6x9 speakers, but this required a lot of hacking. If you want additional punch, you can put in some high quality speakers in the doors and rear quarters and then have a bass tube or some sort of self amplified sub. The self amplified sub would be easily removable should you want to shed some weight for track events.
