retro sound

i've had my eye on a retro sound radio for my 1st gen. are these good quality radios or should i look elsewhere?

yeah quite decent for what they are.

I installed one in my Dad's '69 Ford 250. It was a pain in the ***. Took the whole day. And lots of beer. If you've ever installed a custom sound system before though you'll be ahead of most.

Honestly though these are meant to fit non-standard DIN layouts, whereas the 1st gen supports common DIN layouts which can fit any radio basically.

For the price, for a 1st gen, i would definitely look elsewhere. Now if you were in a 60s-70's rig, then the RetroSound might be a good choice.

Price for quality, they're at least $100 overpriced IMO

thanks. i think i'll just stick with the stock radio then. my whole idea for the build on my car is to keep it close to stock. i was just interested in the retrosound because it looks like a old cassette radio. i really don't want to shove a cd player in it.

Factory system is by far the best style-wise.

Keep an eye on the first gen section - thread titled GSL-SE tape deck ponderances *pics*

We are hacking a line input into the factory head unit
