Replica FEED hood for FD

Why has there not been a replica made of the FEED hood? It seems like there are so many people on the forum that like to stay stock looking or very close to stock looking that this hood would be perfect. I personally think its a perfect design.

If I only had the resources I think that I would have this hood made.

Cuz iz unattractive yo.

Haven't seen a car yet with that hood that looked good. It just doesn't flow well with the rest of the car imho.

Most vented hoods don't look good to me.

How does that hood not flow well with the lines? Its perfect IMO. Well I also haven't seen a single car with the hood other than that red one, maybe thats the problem.

Another reason I might hate it is because the only times I have seen it, it has the matching front clip to that kit that looks awful. It is rounded and.... ahhh, it is making me angry in my pants!!!

I just checked out the feed page and the front clips they have aren't so bad. But the cars I remember with that hood were just hideous. VAP

RX7.com used to have pictures but they changed their website and no longer have them. I must say Rotary Performance over the last probably 6+ years has carried THE worst looking body kits made for the RX-7.

YILES!!!

Ok, I can't find the pic of the front end that looked rounded and ugly. All the feed front ends I see look pretty darned good. I can't find the one I wanted to show you when I first saw this hood.

But I did find this. Is this a 5 wood? Add that to your golf bag.

Thats a good question... is there much towards the rear engine to worry about getting wet? 1FooknTiteFD should know.

...looks like the vents go right over the intake manifold, directly over the motor... would you have to worry about rain hitting the motor, say if you were stopped at a traffic light while raining?

Rain won't hurt the motor. You can hose down the entire engine bay. All the connectors are supposed to be sealed.

Yup.

I've deliberatly hosed my motor down while running, while off... You name it. Never had any affect other than water spots.

FEED ME

The reason there isn't a replica hood is because there's never been a demand for one. I'm sure Chuck at Rotary Extreme would have made one if people demanded the hood. Like you I love the hood but if I have to get it from FEED it's going to hurt the wallet. Good luck in your quest for the perfect hood.

rain isn't a big deal, the hood does a good job redirecting the water, so very little goes underneath the hood. When the engine gets warm and hot, the water dries up

I wouldn't be worried about the rain for anything other than causing waterspots on my engine.

its my favorite FD hood. its subtle, but i would assume functional as well. IMO It also compliments the FD's lines quite nicely
