repainting window trim

Seems to be common from the ones I have seen. The black paint chipping and peeling off of the windshield metal trim work. What works the best in staying on if I were to repaint the trim?
Thanks,
Todd

1. sand off chipping paint, and any rust you may have. (60-100 grit will do)
2. Prepare for primer. (220-300 grit)
and primer it black. wait to dry. Primer it again. Repeat the process 3-5 times.
That's how I did it. It looks all good now
