Has anyone tried to move the heater controls to say, the center console storage bin in an FC?

I'm thinking of moving my din head unit into the spot where the climate controls are, and since it's all just electrical wires, it shouldn't be too hard right?

 

i am curious too.. let me know if u try it.. i would think its pretty easy or at least put it in the glove box.. maybe to throw some ore gauges up there..

 

I want to have access to the guages from the drivers seat, so it can't be too far away. I thought the armrest would be the most natural position.
Maybe even in the space between the two storage bins facing towards the front. I'll check if that involves metal cutting and a lot of trouble.
