Is this red light stock?

I just bought my car and I noticed a red light that is on the dash. Is this a light to show the alarm system is armed?

Nope that's aftermarket... there is a factory alarm, and it that's that ornage light in the center cosole that reads security... but only goes off if you open the door from the inside after it's been locked with a key, or an alarm that imitates that action....

I'm unsure since I've never owned an FD without power doorlocks... I've had 2
Usually what it is is a relay that opens and closes the door, for instance if you lock the door on the inside both doors open and both lock... that's electronic (relay) and not a wire... (cable) that controlls that, so it's fairly easy to hook into that electrical signal and use a car alarm to send the signal when you hit a button on a transmitter...

So theoretically it is possible that some PEP 7's might not have the relay to open the door, but if you say you have "Power" doorlocks it looks like that is not the case...

Uhh.. sorry you changed your question....

well, typically it sais when you open the remote to replace the battery, or typically the alarm unit is placed by the fuse box or somewhere near there since it needs to get at a lot of electrical things like ignition etc... so look for a black box typically not bolted down, or at least not in a factory location under the driver side dash... it should say on the alarm.

I don't have a wireless remote. I am wondering if the owner before me removed the alarm system when he sold it to me. Is the a chance that the box could be in the engine bay?
