Recaro seats for the FD ?
Hello rotaryfreaks ;o)
I am about to buy a very nice set of Recaro seats from a Mitzubishi EVO 9, anyone knows if they will fit ? the seller has messured it to : Width 55 cm (21,65 inches) Length 65 cm (25,60 inches) Height 95 cm (37,40 inches) and I have messured the OEM seats to: 52 cm (20,47 inches) Length 60 cm (23,62 inches) Height 90 cm (35,43 inches) maybe anyone can confirm the OEM messurements ? hope someone can help me, as theese Recaro's are sooooo sweet.

The measurements are close.... Physically, they would probably fit. The concern with FD seats is the width, as the OEM seats are already very tight on each side. The key here is a proper rail setup.
Do you have a way to fabricate the rails to properly AND SECURELY bolt up? I'm sure you know, but remember that whatever fabrication you do form has to withstand an impact.... Enough to save your life.
I will be the first to tell you that aftermarket seats can be a real pain to fit. Often times they sit too low or too high. And the centering can be hard to get right if the brackets are differently shaped.
ANYTHING can be made to fit, its just all about how much work it is, and how much work you are willing to do.
I personally will be installing factory RECARO RZ seats.... Pricey? You bet! Worth the perfect fitment? Easily.

Yes I know they will look fantastic ;o) BUT I am in big doubt, that they can actually fit inside the FD ? and I will not be willing to cut/modify etc. anything to the seats/interior to have them fitting, anyone knows if the F1Spec R1 seats will fit (I think they would the messurements are perfect it seems).
