Again I gotta refer to reganrotaryracing.com. He has an excellent writeup on the 99 install. As far as the location of the holes to drill to get the R1 on... I wouldnt trust anyone but a pro bodyshop to do it.

I'm bringing this topic back to the top. I would like to have some definitive answers.
At first I thought the 99 spec wing would bolt right up to the standard R1 holes. As it turns out, that's not the case.
I don't want to leave any holes exposed nor am I going to get my rear hatch patched to run a wing.
Right now, she's got the standard R1 wing.
Which spoilers either cover up or use the stock 8 holes from this wing?
I've searched and there are some people who say the old Mazdaspeed A-spec wing covers up the holes. But from what I can see, it's not adjustable the way the 99 spec wing is.
The Mazdaspeed GTC wing looks like it'll cover all 8 holes, but in another post I read 2 holes are left exposed.
Can someone please enlighten me?
Thanks,

Correct, you're pretty much left with either keeping your R1 wing, getting a wingless hatch and starting fresh, or getting the exposed holes welded.
When I really thought about it, I like the R1 wing so I stuck with choice #1

Thanks guys. I just wanted to confirm.
Finding the parts is an easy thing. Paying the outrageous prices for rare parts doesn't really bother me (it does a bit, but I'll live. :-) ) It's the mounting that's the problem.
I will forgo any other wing and keep my stock R1/R2 wing.
If I was seriously going to go racing I would love to get the GTC wing. But alas, she barely makes it out on the nice days. I have better things to waste money on.
