Rear View Mirror Shakes

My Rear view mirror shakes like crazy everytime I am driving. Is there any way to somehow make it stop shaking. Its a mission sometimes to see who is driving behind me because it shakes that much. Any advice is welcome.

TIA,
ALI

The one on my FD got looser and looser. It would not hold adjustment on bumpy roads, especially if it was hot outside. I finally bought a used one from someone here.

I haven't found a way to get them apart to see if they can be repaired.

Mine has been loose on almost every car I have gotten - this may sound silly, but I managed to fix most of them by using a small syringe filled with epoxy.. just put a drop or two on and rotate it around, spreading it all over the ball.. when it dries it creates more friction.. dont use so much that you glue it together, just a tiny bit .. anyways worked for me

There's a set screw underneath if you look (more like if you can construe your body past the center console and dash, while upside down/on your back haha). I found that out from a parts diagram. But don't get your hopes up. My mirror is loose (doesn't shake...but it'll jiggle if you try to adjust it...pretty annoying), yet the screw is 100% tight.. Go figure
