i put a radio in my 86 rx7 and it wont keep memory the end of the wires were cut off and i found the power wire and the switch power but there is one thats is white with some stripes on it that i didnt hook up do you guys know what might be the problem?

 

which wires are cut? The stereo's harness or the cars harness?

There should be two power wires coming from the car, one is batt the other is fuse (only works when car is on). Find the two wires from the stereo harness that are also power and fuse (usually they are red and yellow, and are a little thicker than ther rest) Then just try different combos and one will work.

 

yeah i got the radio to switch on and off with the key but it just wont keep memory and the car plugs are cut
