Radio plays music...but while playing CDs...no sound, please help.
Well, it has been an exhausting day and mind boggling. I installed my new Kenwood KDC-MP522 and I also used the FD harness ordered from Crutchfield. The radio turns on fine and I can hear music while playing the radio. Here is where it gets very weird, when I play a CD, it plays but there is no music or even noise. My first thought was that the head unit maybe defective.
So, thankfully my friend has two Kenwood stereos which utilize the same harness. I plugged his first stereo into the FD and I get the same result. I plugged in the other one, same result. We then took all three units to his car and plugged them up and to my surprise, they all played CDs WTF!!! I have had the Aiwa MP3 player before and it worked fine.
Some thieves yanked out the Aiwa so this is the reason for the new stereo. I also found out that the rear Bose snake doesn’t work either but the front speakers are fine. I am so clueless at this point. I thank you in advance for any inputs regarding this matter.
