Quick Audio Question
If i have a MTX 1501D mono amp, and i have two subs both rated at around 400 RMS at 4 ohms. How do i want to wire these so i don't blow anything? or would it be better just to buy a 2 channel amp?
The 1501D will work great. Wire the two woofers in series (daisy chain). That will drive the amp into an 8 ohm load. You'll have plenty of power. Make sure to run a large enough power cable. The biggest mistake people make with that amp is using too small a power cable.

I'm not sure I agree with the above advice. First, let us know single or dual voice coil.
If I were you, I would shoot for a 2-ohm load. Your amp produces 1000W RMS with a 2-ohm load; therefore, each sub would get 500W RMS. Yes, it's over the recommended, but if you keep your gains in check, you won't have any problems.
What subs do you have exactly?
Below is a wiring guide based on what impedance you are looking for.

Your right, we do need to know know if the are dual voice coil drivers. The 1000W/2ohm is at 12.5 volts input. The 1501D does 1500W/2ohm at 14.4V. He will have something like 13.5 at the amp (using 1/0). A 2 ohm load would provide the most power out of the amp, but I would make sure everything else is in place......1/0 power cable.....enough power for the mids and highs to balance it......and a high output alternator would be a good idea.
