Questions for those that really know about car audio systems

Ok guys, I am upgrading my audio in my FD. I replaced my back speakers with some eclipse speakers when my stockers blew but now I decided to upgrade everything. I am putting some Infinity Kappas components (6.5) in the front, and using the Alpine cda-7998 HU which is not made anymore, for those that know the cda-7998 has no internal amp, so I have to buy an amp for obvious reasons. I am definitely buying a JL Audio amp. Either the 300/4 or the 500/5. Leaning towards the 500/5. I am not currently going to add a sub, but eventually I will which makes the 500/5 a no brainer for me and helps with space since I would only need 1 amp. The rated power for the front channels is 100 RMS x 2 the rear is 25 rms x 2 and for thesub channel is 250. Now here is my concern since I already have component kappas for the front which are rated for 90 w RMS will they be damaged by the 100 w that the amp is sending to the front??? can I control the amount of w the amp is sending to the front so that I won't damage the speakers (I think)??? I understand this might seem like a very stupid question for those that know but this is the first time I"ve looked into upgrading my cars audio. Thanks a lot.

That amp will do fine. You do not need to use the full power of the amp. You can limit the output of the amp quite easily.

Yes, just turn down the gain on input.

What really kills speakers is not too mcu power, but clipping. Speakers run on an ac signal but when the amp runs out of head room (because the power supply can't keep up) at high power the wave form becomes clipped and you end up with dc current present. This can overheat the voice coil and kill the speaker.
