i just bought a stock bose tape/cd combo and i just plugged it in after i disconnected negative on battery and its not working? i noticed i'm missing the relay under my hood that says radio relay would that affect it?

Did your car come with the Bose system (ie, a Touring model?) If you don't have a Touring, the stereo will NOT work in your car - the Tourings have VERY different wiring for the Bose system, with various amps and things in the system. Trying to put the Bose system in a base or R package is VERY difficult, requiring a number of special components and wiring, and the end result is a crappy sound system.
