quarter panel how-to

i was hoping i would find some good info on replacing a quarter panel on the site but there isnt too much on here, yea i know replacing a quarter panel is not something any of us want to do or hopefully would have a reason to do but you never know when some dumb drunk kid is going to drive by and bash your drivers 1/4 in to the point where its not fixable(yea thats what happened to me) well anyways i think that all of us that do our own work to our cars should always have something to refer to, and i think how-to's are the best and whenever i am doing something to my can that i have never done before i always try to find a how-to on it or something to give me an idea of what im doing. but anyways unless there is a how-to on a quarter panel replacment that i didnt find i will be putting one up very soon to give everyone something to refer to when they a little bad luck just like myself, well if you know of one that already exsists could you let me know so i dont waste my time making one and so i have something to use, ill let you guys know when its done

Cut out the main damage with a nibbler, and then make an inward lip using a joggling tool . Get a peice of metal formed to the same contours as the panel you're replacing, and then weld it on.
After its cooled down, you can fill in the edges with bodyfiller to get it smooth.

not exactly replacing the whole panel, but a whole load cheaper!!!

If You Really Love Your Car Let A Pro Do It(assuming You Only Know How To Cut Spot Welds), Otherwise It May End Up Looking Like S#!t. Just My .02
