push botton start

Has anybody ever tried a Push Botton Start on their 7?

yes, i know a couple of people have done it on first gens. dont know about other gens. try a search

i've seen it done on a couple of 3rd gens. Damians CYM track car has one. And IIRC, www.iluvmyrx7.com has a write up on installing a push button start button.

it's one of the easiest mods for the FD. when get to the part of the instructons where it tells you to cut one of the ignition wires, don't cut it...splice into instead, or else you'll never be able to start the car just by turning the key. btw, don't get the Ignited push button start, get the OEM S2000 one from a Honda dealer...it's only $30 something. and use a floppy drive power connector from a computer power supply to wire it up. you'll only need 3 wires to connect it. goodluck and have fun.

The bad thing about splicing in a parrallal connection is that you no longer need the key, thus all security is removed basically. While it is a bit more effort, I'd opt for the button to be in series and you would have to turn the key before the start button would work. Either that or have a kill switch hidden elsewhere.
