The parts from Rx7 Boutique I am able to source, thus the source times posted below each item. My current inventory consists of Re-Amemiya Titanium exhaust, HKS Elbow, Spirit-R Steering wheel, 99 Tach, feed downpipe, defi bf gauges with control link and a mazdaspeed wing. If you buy more then one item, you get a 10% discount. - Bryan |
thanks Bryan. i will check again those stuffs with a friend of mine and hopefully we will take some of those. do you shipping abroad to Greece ??

hey i gotta say i appreciate the time you take into considering the mods on your car, you have exceptional taste and your FD will be top tier when its done. i have to disagree with the 19 inch wheels and body kit coming before redoing your engine bay and tossing the automatic transmission... but to each their own. if you end up at UCLA ill see ya around i live just south of the school, well be twins i have a yellow one and im planning on getting a feed type IIr bumper

They are burnout front fenders and rear addons..

those look amazin, i wonder if they would look good with a feed type II or a mazdaspeed gtc bumper and sideskirts other than the burnout ones...

mini update: I ordered and paid for the rotary extreme n1 hood and re-amemiya mirrors. That means the body of the car is done. Just need the 18" bbs lms and suspension to finish the exterior. On that note, I have to push paint back to the end of August, I got an internship for global corporate investment banking in Atlanta from June 8th to August 21st. I have a full schedule till June 8th studying for the LSAT, and after that I leave straight to ATL, then school starts the 24th. The problem is my painter is in Orlando, and I need my car in Atlanta. So my car will go to paint as soon as I get back from Atlanta - the end of August.

Throwing another color into the mix:
yamaha 07 candy red https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...7/IMG_1752.jpg https://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...6/75dda5a8.jpg https://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...6/d29ee38e.jpg When the sun hits it https://i260.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_11551.jpg Darker then shift red, not as much orange tone. The second and third picture is EXACTLY the color I am looking for. |
How about the original color your car came with?

What kind of mirrors did you order?

Pure...I'm lovin' the thread. It's always nice to see documentation of a full project. Can't wait to see what the ride looks like when or IF (lol) you're done with it. I say "if" because IMO none of us really can stop and say we're finished...I think we're all addicted!
Re 19" Wheel Bashing: It seems like most people are bashing on 19" rims simply from what they have seen in pictures. I happen to own custom 19" wheels and they look fantastic! Obviously they're not ideal for all set-ups, but if you're simply cruising or for shows they can not be beat. For everything else...buy a set of 17" or 18" wheels and have the best of both worlds ;) |
the candy red looks great. There is a guy local to me that rides one just like that I see often and it looks good at night passing the under the lights and FREAKIN looks awesome in the sun..... The FD seems to be coming along nicely. keep up the great work and wish you the best on your studies.
|
Nice, I was going to get those but opted not, since most of all side mirrors like that dont work very well for a LHD car, nice choice though....
|
the red is going to look great on your car. i really like the color of that r6 looks great. keep the updates coming!
|
I like that Yamaha Candy Red.
I've seen Shift Red in person and I love it, and I don't think it looks as pink as some of these pics make it out to be... But that Candy Red is a definite win!! Do it! |
Saw a red and thought of you: the Newer Lexus SC430 I believe
|
Damn almost forgot about this thread. Your car will look amazing brian.
And i would also like to wish you luck on your internship. You should be making CAKE with your job position. I know of a person whos in investment banking and he has 2 ferraris paid for, no monthly payment crap lol But he has an MBA. Even though though, starting salary is good. |

Ultimately I decided on 18s because I think with the car extremely low 19s will just be too big and tear up my fenders.

I know of a person whos in investment banking and he has 2 ferraris paid for, no monthly payment crap lol But he has an MBA. Even though though, starting salary is good. Couple of updates. 1. Ordered spirit-r shift knob 2. ad9 hood shipped from Cali on saturday, should be here this week. 3. Re-amemiya mirrors came in today, they look FANTASTIC. Did not know you need the bases to install these so I just bought a set from another forum member. Once those arrive I can install them. The pictures do NOT do them justice, they are exactly what I wanted, subtle yet slightly aggressive. I could not be happier. Plus they are powered, which will be a nice change from my gandor mirrors. Will post an update when I receive the bases and install them. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...aprelim014.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...aprelim015.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...aprelim017.jpg |

Do you mind me asking what you got the RE-A AD9 hood for? Is it CF or FRP?

1. I have seen both the rotary extreme and the re-amemiya hood in person, and the rotary extreme hood fits BETTER. I have talked to Chuck in the past about this, apparently they fixed the inherent problem with the gap between the hood and the front bumper. Either way, when I saw the ad9 hood in person I was NOT impressed, especially when comparing it to the rotary extreme hood. Now this could be attributed to the owner of the ad9 hood not properly installing it, but installing a hood is not difficult. 2. Price. Although I have a "money is no object" attitude, I still like to keep things within reason. The FRP ad9 hood is $1400 and the cf is I believe $1900+. That is A LOT of money for a frp hood and doesnt factor in shipping. I picked up the rotary extreme hood from another member for $1025 shipped in CF, although that was irrelevant since I am going to paint it anyways. It is a shame that rotary extreme stopped making their aero line, as they had some great fitting pieces. |

Yes it is. My old scoot replica was rotary extreme and I was very satisfied. |
Eh... I guess I think those mirrors look better with that full kit from RE. But to each their own, great progress so far, man. Good luck!
|
Sooo, my re n1 hood came in today and was destroyed from shipping. I wont go into further details until I know how the seller handles the situation. On that note, it completely screws everything up. Need to find a new hood, again.
1. No more used hoods, sick of dealing with this BS, so I can order a new frp authentic re-amemiya ad9 hood for $1400. 2. Garage-s hood in frp, run me close to a grand. http://image.modified.com/f/17269558...+mazda_rx7.jpg http://image.modified.com/f/17279038...+mazda_rx7.jpg Not sure if the hood is too aggressive. I think if I go with that hood I am going to need a more aggressive setup. So I will then probably sell my r-magic fenders and go with the feed front fenders and a nice pull on the rear fender. Which got me thinking, now that I have +25mm fenders, I can get pretty aggressive with offsets. The lms are still tentative, but I might throw some concaved ce28n's on it in black or I dont know anymore. This hood messed up all my plans. |

Bryan... Very sorry about the hood.
How much are the RE mirrors? Do they have different bases than stock? Looks like it. Gordon I paid ~$550 for the mirrors brand new, I believe cfrp is around $700. The mirrors use the stock base, just picked up a set from a member, so once they come in I can install them. They are GORGEOUS, I love how subtle they look, and they really define the lines of the car too. |
Pure I'm so tempted to give you shit and ask if you are going to do the sleepy eye mod to your FD! Hope Atlanta treats you well and looking forward to seeing all the progress in person when you return.
Kevin |
I'm a big fan of those mirrors and plan to get a set in the future. Just haven't decided whether to go with unpainted carbon or painted frp.

On a side note, I have decided on this setup for my gauge cluster. 2002 cluster re-amemiya white kmh speedo re-amemiya white boost gauge and pod. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...rx7/retach.jpg |
Damn. Sorry about the hood. I like the gauge cluster..is that backlit red at night?

I love the N1 hood. Good choice.

I have been looking at that color, their is a really nice blue that comes on the sc430. The red is called Matador red and is one I have been debating about. Just looks a bit to pinkish in the sunlight, although some pictures it looks fine. I will need to take a better look in person.

Its a tough call because the cfrp are only another $150. I would have gotten the cfrp if I was planning on keeping my hood carbon fiber. I've seen 2 metallic / candy red FDs in person. I didn't much care for either. A little to sparkly for my tastes. I prefer a more subdued, classic look of a nice Vintage Red or other solid red. I had Viper Red on my last FD and it was a little brighter/redder than the VR. I think I prefer the VR to the Viper Red. I did see Jack Mardikian's Ferrari Red FD in person and thought that red looked good on the car also. The red looked deeper but not as 'bright'.
I like the AD9 hood better b/c its a bit classier and less aggressive than the other. YMMV. |
Those gauges look sharp, I'm going to be picking up some white faced oem gauges as well :)
Btw, I had to make a decision on paint back in 2003 and am glad I stuck with the VR......anyone who's seen the car in person can attest that the stock VR, sprayed right, looks phenomenal :icon_tup: |

Some updates on the car: 1. Got the hood installed, looks okay, better then the seibon. Problems: a. Both ends are chipped from shipping b. The front is a bit off, the left side is sticking up, but the right is fine. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit009.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit006.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit007.jpg :( x1000 http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit010.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit012.jpg 2. Put in the authentic spirit-r shift knob http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit001.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12.../spirit003.jpg 3. parts ordered: a.Feed front fenders (that means my r-magic fenders will be for sale soon) b.Burnout rear flares, I want something identical to this, you can see they smoothed it out a bit more then normal so it flows better - that is what I am shooting for: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...rx7/img045.jpg Going to run BBS lm 18x9 + 20 and 18x10 + 20 I am still waiting on the mirror bases, I will post up pictures when they are installed. |
Whoa, you already did the 5-speed swap?
Sucks about your hood though =\ What are you going to do? |
Pure,
Your shifter looks really high now. Thought you were running a short throw for some reason. |
Nice!
