Project Smokie Jr
Well its been 381 days (1 year 2 weeks and 2days) since my car was taking from me by some punks jealous of my car and no it wasnt in the greatest fashion but it was nice with some nice 17" rims on it that made it stand out and what they did was took 3 of the rims they snatched out a aftermarket tape deck without the face plate and broke my vents. Since then its been 1 year and 1 1/2 weeks since i drove it and in august of this year 06 i finaly started Project Smokie Jr. Its an 86 gxl non turbo with no power windows no power steering just a basic model that was giving to me by my youth pastor who was the only owner that keep it up in good shape. He didnt have time to work on it and knew that me and one of the minister in my church (who has 3 of them and builds them from the ground up and sells them) would love to have it as my project/street car. So now that the project is complete as far as the motor is concerned I want to shwo some before pics of what it looks like when i got it back with the old motor. I know im going to get flamed for this and im hurting bad because i cant drive my car at the time but I want to get some Ideas from you guys or mabe you can share some expriences with me that you have had similar:

So those are the before pics and recently since my buddy and I have been working on my car and putting in the 87 t2 engine and tranny we came accross some nice things since we have taking that engine and tranny out of the front clip i just found out that i have a stage two double preaure plate clutch i dont know from who i will look into that and i notice it already has an upgraded turbo on it with a blitz bov we havent gotten it started yet but i cant wait it should be done by next week or mabe sooner. This Project would have been done sooner but because of financial issues i had to sometimes wait and save up money but i got everything at a great deal i mean the engine and tranny was only 1800 with everything on it i just had to buy a 87 t2 engine harness and ecu because the engine is an 89 i also purchased a new radiator so i cant wait to get back on the road and smash on some hondas and wrx and get my revenge

Holy **** Smokie is that you ??? Its me, Eugene, Jason's friend with the gray FD. I think you can make this FC look great, look into a GP Sports kit for the car. It's extremely clean looking and looks amazing in black. As for the interior, I'd say upgrade to a Nardi steering wheel and the CF sounds good. I'm in MA right now @ school, but I'll definitely meet up with you guys when I'm back.
Oh yeah, and Merlin, please do not waste time with inane comments as the above without some legitimate reading assessment skills.
Nice to see you on the forum Smokie.

haha yeah man i'll pray that it fires up too ! i can't wait till we all just get to cruise together, do a little photoshoot; i can show you all the sweet fun roads around that i've scoped out. Yeah, I'm pretty pissed i'll be missing D1, I was actually supposed to work there as a pit guy (have a connection that knew about the openings). That would have been cool since I would have been able to talk to the drifters and such . If I can I'm going to change my flight to go earlier. But otherwise, yeah man I'll definitely see you before christmas. Take care man, keep me updated !
